The award honors former SHRM President & CEO, Susan R. Meisinger, SPHR.

Sponsored jointly by SHRM and the SHRM Foundation, the fellowship supports those who want to leverage significant past contributions to the HR management field and who plan to continue contributing to the profession by earning a master’s degree in HR.

The SHRM Foundation’s endowment grew from $6.9 million to $13.9 million and research grants increased from less than $100,000 to more than $700,000 awarded annually.

Eligibility

Minimum of 10 years of total professional work experience, with a minimum of five of those years in HR,is required. Applicant must meet at least one of the following criteria: be a member of SHRM (India) or hold a professional certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP). Applicant must possess an undergraduate degree with an overall GPA of 3.5 and current graduate studies (if already enrolled) based on a 4-point grading scale or any scale analogous to a 4-point grading scale. Applicant should have been accepted or seeking a HR-related master’s degree for the first time within or outside of the United States , or is already enrolled in such program and has a minimum of two years of study remaining in an HR-related master’s degree program.
